- RAYVIEW is a BEAR-ware program! Hullo to all Bears out there!
-
- 12/19/91 SHOW512.PRG definitely a beta release, but hey, it works.
- 12/24/91 Renamed to RAYVIEW. Palette is properly restored.
- 12/29/92 TT/Mega STE 16mhz/Monochrome warning alerts added.
- 01/05/92 Fine tuned Alert logic, view favored over quitting.
- 07/18/92 Lonny Pursell added decompression, restructured code.
- V.5 Defaults to drive last pic was loaded from for next pic.
-
- RAYVIEW is a program to make viewing _ANY_ GFA Raytrace pic a
- simple matter of using a File Selector. It was modified from the
- limited GFA BASIC code that was included with V2.1 of Raytrace -
- brain-dead code that only allowed viewing a single pic called
- DEMO.SUL. It has progressed over the past 6 monts with several
- improvements added - it can now let you view either compressed or
- uncompressed pics! It lets you select a sequence of pics to view,
- continuing or terminating after each. (sorry, it's not a slide-
- show yet!)
-
- RAYVIEW runs from either medium or low resolution on color ST/E's.
- Like Spectrum 512, stray dots may appear onscreen if the video chip
- is not "sync'ed" properly. You may need to power your ST off for a
- few moments then repower on to get a clean image.
-
- ** RAYVIEW.OBJ must be present & in the same directory RAYVIEW.PRG
- was run from.** This code is loaded in at the start to set up 512
- color mode. Mysterious stuff there...
-
- Use the File Selector to set your drive/path and select the pic
- for viewviewing, press any key to exit view mode. You may terminate
- from either the Alerts, or by selecting Cancel from the File Selector.
-
- If your raytraced creations are in uncompressed format, you can
- convert them from within Raytrace by loading them in, then using
- the Save Screen option after setting Compression ON in the Status
- menu. You'll save about 15-30K of disk space per image.
-
- Lonny Pursell has also updated RAYVERTER to now allow conversion
- of both Raytrace formats to Spectrum 512, or to either Neochrome
- or Degas 16 color/grayscale format! Send him a few bucks to
- reward his efforts, and he'll glady send you RAYVERTER II.
- He'll add .GIF support if someone can send him GFA BASIC code
- and or other source to help him decipher it's format. Write:
